Here's what a full front yard overhaul looks like mid-build. The old lawn is out, the ground is prepped and graded, and we're laying everything out before a single plant goes in the ground. That planning stage matters more than most people realize - it's how you avoid costly mistakes once the hardscape and irrigation are locked in.

We're going drought-tolerant across the board on this one. That means swapping out a thirsty lawn for plants that actually thrive in the heat without a weekly soak. You can see the layout taking shape - shrubs and flowering plants staged across the freshly worked soil, ready to go in once the brick edging and cement work are set.

The hardscape side of this build is just as important as the plants. New cement and brick work will tie the whole yard together, giving it clean lines and a structure that holds up long-term. It's the kind of detail that separates a yard that looks good for a season from one that holds its value for years.

Part of our approach is making sure the plant placement makes sense before anything gets dug in. Spacing, height, water needs - it all gets thought through up front. These aren't random selections. They're chosen to work together, stay manageable with routine hedge and shrub maintenance, and look great without demanding a ton of upkeep from the homeowner.

This one's still in progress and the finished result is going to be worth the wait. A front yard that handles the heat, cuts down on water waste, and actually looks like something. Stay tuned.
