Sometimes a yard just needs a reset. Not a full demolition - just the right plants in the right spots, fresh mulch to tie it all together, and a sprinkler system that actually does its job. That combination alone can take a front yard from tired to sharp without overthinking it.
We brought in new plants along the border beds and topped everything off with a clean layer of dark mulch. It keeps moisture in, cuts down on weeds, and gives the whole space a finished look. The contrast between the mulch beds and the artificial turf in the center is a big part of what makes this setup work so well visually.
The turf is a detail worth talking about. No watering, no mowing, no browning out in the heat. It holds its color and stays low maintenance no matter what. Pair that with updated irrigation running the surrounding plant beds, and you've got a front yard that basically takes care of itself.
That's really the goal with a refresh like this - reduce the work, not just improve the look. When the irrigation is dialed in and the plants are placed well from the start, you're not fighting the yard every week. It just grows the way it should.
A lot of yards are one good plan away from looking like this. The bones are usually already there. It's just a matter of knowing what to add, what to update, and how to set it up so it stays that way.
